The Yowza Keewadin treadmill is a new folding treadmill that has received great acceptance from both industry critics and end users.
Serious runners enjoy the off season training opprotunities that they receive with the durable construction of the Yowza Keewadin treadmill. The 3.0 HP commercial grade motor puts this treadmill in the upper range in terms of power offerings. Higher power output, particularly Continous HP ratings, give a good indication of what the treadmill will put up with in terms of useage. Less than 2.5 HP treadmills will typically be best for walking or light jogging use.
When you see ratings, like the Yowza Keewadin's, in the 3 hp range, you're seeing a treadmill that was meant to be run on over a long period of time. If you're like me, I'll typically try to stretch my purchase to something that is a bit of overkill for what I need. If you're doing anything on a treadmill, this one can be considered your "over kill" purchase.
Shock absorption is always a bit topic, at least in the treadmill world. Running on asphalt or concrete has an obvious impact problem that will cause joint pain and other side effects. Most treadmills offer or at least taut some sort of shock absorbing features. The Yowza Keewadin uses a swing arm style that absorbs your foot impact well, without feeling like you're running through a spungy lawn.
Given the critical foundation of motor size and deck rebound effect, we turn our attention to the console and creature comfort items offered by the Keewadin Treadmill.
Treadmill Console Design -Single touch start - We really like to see quick start functionality on a treadmill. Although very simplistic, it really let's you get moving with your workout and make the manual adjustments after you get your muscles in the "mood" to work out.
Dispaly functions - the display is clearly marked not only on the obvious screen elements but also next to the function buttons themselves. Focusing in on the red lights in each section will give you a quick understanding of what is going on with the machine, or what needs to be changed to get a sharper angle or faster speed.
15 preset programs - losing weight or training based on heart rate? The Yowza Keewadin covers a lot of the most common use cases for treadmills with its set of 15 pre-programmed workout routines. You choose the time, and get moving. Several of these programs takes the users information into account. This can be a real downer to enter each time you step on the machine, but the Keewadin has 9 memory spots for unique users. Enter all your relevant info and save it to the machine's memory. Starting in on your next workout just got that much easier.
Ipod dock instead of a simple auxillary port. I really like to see this feature on a treadmill or elliptical. I want a specific spot for the iPod to sit. I'd prefer a cradle since it makes it less likely I'll knock it off of the machine with some clumbsy half thought out move of the hand. (last time, I was wiping my head of sweat...yanked on an earphone wire and sent the ipod skittering across the floor).
Well designed treadmills like the Keewadin will run much quieter than the standard lineup you'll find at your local Sears. The Keewadin Treadmill's powerful motor and crowned rollers keep the belt well centered and quiet.
I highly recommend this treadmill for your next purchase. If this one is just out of reach for you to pay in cash consider Yowza Fitness' financing as an alternative option.
